FAQs
WHAT ARE YOUR  HOURS? The library is open Tuesday through Thursday from 10.30 AM until 6.00 PM, on Fridays from 10.00 AM until 4.00 PM, and on Saturdays from 9.00 AM until 3.00 PM  Call 724.583.7030  for holiday hours.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO USE THE LIBRARY? Since our library is a member of the Fayette County Library System, all county residents are entitled  to use the library at no cost.

FOR HOW LONG MAY MATERIALS BE BORROWED?
Books may be checked  out for two weeks, and may be renewed for an additional two weeks. A book drop is located outside the Washington Street entrance so that materials  may be returned when the library is closed.

WHAT IF I AM UNABLE TO COME TO THE LIBRARY TO RENEW MY BOOKS? Just call  the library at 724.583.7030 to renew your materials over the phone. Please  have the title and due date of the materials available when you call.

WHAT PROGRAMS DOES THE LIBRARY OFFER?
The library has offered a  successful pre-school program for many years and has offered various informal  programs for children and adults. Check our web site or the main desk  for current activities.

WHAT IF I NEED A BOOK THAT THE LIBRARY DOESN'T OWN?
As a member of Access  Pennsylvania, we are able to obtain materials from libraries throughout  the commonwealth. Please be advised, however, that locating materials can take considerable time and we cannot guarantee that requested items will be available by a certain date.

I NEED TO HAVE SOME MATERIAL FAXED. DOES THE LIBRARY OFFER THIS SERVICE? We are able to transmit and receive faxed material for a nominal charge.

CAN YOU MAKE PHOTOCOPIES FOR THE PUBLIC? The library has a copier and  staff members will be happy to make copies for you at a reasonable cost.

DOES THE LIBRARY HAVE COMPUTERS AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC USE? Several  computers are currently available for our patrons.  Microsoft Word, as well as Office XP and other useful programs, is installed and available for use on the computers.

Due to the high cost of print cartridges, we must request a nominal charge  for the use of the laser or ink jet printers.

While the library has computers available for public use,
we are unable  to provide individual instruction in using the software.

Computers are shut down 15 minutes prior to closing time.

DOES THE LIBRARY OFFER INTERNET SERVICE TO THE PUBLIC? Free Internet access is available; a timer program has been installed to insure fair use of computer resources. Internet and computer usage policies have been established by the Board of Directors and are posted in the library.

In addition, our library now offers FREE WI-FI service for patrons who wish to use their own laptop computers.
