Many Programs Offered at the Library
For more information or for registration about any of our programs,
please stop by the main desk at the library or call 724.583.7030.

Throughout the school year, our library hosts the very popular Preschool
Story Hour
for children ages 3-5. Two experienced PA certified
elementary teachers, Judy Bogozi and Donna Parish, will be in charge of
the story hour. In addition to the many learning activities planned for each
Story Hour, "Miss Judy" and "Miss Donna" provide guide sheets and
suggestions that parents can use to practice the skills and concepts with
their children at home.
Call the library for specific dates and times.
Parents are requested to register their children for this program since
class size will be limited.

German-Masontown Geocaching Club will meet the last Wednesday
of every month from 4.30 to 5.30 PM.
What's that? Geocaching is a
real-world, super fun, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS enabled
devices.
What do I need to play? A smart phone with a GPS app or a
hand held GPS unit are required.

Library Director Tiffany Jean Fleet invites you to Stitch a Bit on
Thursday afternoons! Beginning and experienced crafters are invited to
get together and have fun as they knit or crochet. All are welcome! So
come learn how to knit or crochet, or perhaps share your skill with others.
We hope to see you as we begin to
Stitch a Bit at 3.00 PM every
Thursday
.

The library will host
Wii..PLAY HERE on Tuesday at 3.30 PM. Teens
through seniors, beginners through experts, are welcome to play popular
video games on the Nintendo Wii system. Video gaming tournaments are
also planned.

Children in Grades 1 through 3 are welcome to join our Saturday
Special
where we will read stories, watch short movies, do craft projects
or other activities on a seasonal theme. We will also help children select
library books related to each theme. Check the bulletin board in the lobby
or our Facebook page for updated information.
 Parents or guardians
MUST call or stop at the library to register their children prior to each
session so that we may have enough materials prepared.

German-Masontown Public Library, in partnership with the Albert Gallatin
Education Foundation, proudly announces the inauguration of the
Dolly
Parton Imagination Library
. We are truly excited to offer this
exceptional program to the residents of our community. Please follow
this

Many activities which are both educational and entertaining are
scheduled for the
Summer Reading Program. In addition to reading
activities, the programs will feature crafts, snacks, videos, and rewards
for those children attending. Masontown Elementary School teachers
Dorothy Gruskowski and April Serock welcome Kindergarten to Grade 3
children to join the fun! Programs featuring professional presentations are
also offered; "The Cat in the Hat," "Queenie the Clown," "Mother Goose,"
and "Steve the Magician" were among those who have visited the library
and entertained the children attending our Summer Reading Program.
Contact the library for a schedule of summer events. There is NO
CHARGE for participation in any of these programs, but pre-registration is
strongly encouraged since space is limited.

In response to numerous requests, the library will again be offering Adult
Computer Classes
. These will be basic classes which require no
previous computer skills. This is the perfect chance for adults to get
involved with changing technology. The classes will begin in January and
will run for four sessions; the specific dates and times will be arranged.

For those who have some basic computer ability and would like to
enhance their skills or to learn a specific application, we have arranged
for the instructor to provide
COMPUTER LESSONS on an individual basis
for a modest cost.

Confused about "smart phones"? What's the difference between a Droid,
an iPhone and a BlackBerry? Should you purchase a digital camera or a
GPS--or is there "an app for that." We have you covered! Patrons can
arrange private lessons for individual assistance in
SELECTING AND
USING A SMART PHONE
best suited to your needs.
